To be successful in the future people need to understand and anticipate how the world will be or at least trending to be. Knowing that allows for proper planning, molding, preparation of a leadership core than can be built to handle the issues of tomorrow now rather than trying to play catch-up later.
Chief Information Officers are important roles within an organization yet mostly under utilized. The future CIO needs to evolve beyond the current definition and expand beyond the corporate IT walls into the global scene. The world’s IT is becoming decentralized, far more distributed and global. The CIO of tomorrow needs to evolve into the designer, developer, integrator, protector and provider.
