Movies and TV Shows are going digital. Gone are the days of going down and purchasing physical media or heading to the rental shop to pick up a movie for the night. Streaming is the future, cord cutting is gaining in popularity and not every service is created equal. In fact the movie studios, streaming services, lawyers create deals where the movies and shows are not available everywhere all the time. That means your favorite movie on Netflix most likely will disappear from the service at some point but return a year later.
But that doesn’t mean your movie is not available anywhere, it just makes it harder to track it down.
That’s where a website I found called Can I Stream. It? comes into play. This website will tell you all the locations where a movie is currently being played. In addition it will give you where you can purchase it, how much it will cost for both digital and physical media. If you are like me and don’t really care to chase down a movie because you know eventually it will appear on the service(s) I have you can use Can I Stream. It? to notify you when it does show up.
Streaming services are like any other companies, they compete for your business and the movie and show makers want to make as much money as they can. That means competition doesn’t make all services equal and a pain for consumers when one has what you want and yours does not. It’s not a coincidence when a movie leaves Netflix it’s available on Amazon Prime and vice versa, but rarely will a big title movie be on both services at the same time.
With Can I Stream. It? it can help you as a consumer to take a little control back around this new world of entertainment enjoyment. At least you can find out where the heck your favorite movie went if it disappeared from your Netflix list.
End of line.
